WHY

Curt attended Olivet Nazarene University where he earned a Bachelors degree in Chemistry.  Curt competed there as an intercollegiate wrestler becoming a four time All-American and a 4 time NCCAA national champion.

After college Curt became an accomplished teacher and a successful wrestling coach never having a losing season.  Curt has been an educator for the past 30 years.  Teaching and coaching taught Curt that leadership is more about listening than directing.  There is a time for directing, but it must be preceded by listening to those you are directing.  Curt has worked several other jobs over the years at varying levels of management.

Curt has completed 60 plus hours of masters level coursework in Special Education, Chemistry and seminary.  He is currently completing his Masters in Apologetics.  He has clocked in numerous additional hours of personal study in abiogenesis, cosmology, philosophy of time, astronomy, philosophical problems of evolution, geology, and theology.

 

He spends much of his time with family, loves all sports, and keeps current with news, politics and Indiana legislation.  Most recently, Curt and his family dove into the political arena campaigning for candidates, educating constituents in the constitution and encouraging their voice, testifying at the statehouse, and now he desires to directly affect legislation by representing his district in Indiana.  He supports the people of District 52, thinks Indiana is the best state to reside in, and believes Indiana has the ability to be a national leader.  We will do better and we will do more for you.

FAMILY AND FAITH

Curt met the love of his life, Rene', after college.  He decided shortly after meeting her she was the women he was going to marry.  Five years later, Curt made good on that decision.

​

Curt and Rene' have been married for twenty-seven years.  Their children are his proudest accomplishment.  This last year he became a proud grandfather.  Curt enjoys having goats, dogs, cats, sometimes chickens and pigs, and a whole lot of fun living on his small hobby farm right outside Corunna.  

​

Curt has led several ministries throughout the years. He was a Campus Life leader in college and then went on staff with Youth for Christ after marrying.  He helped start a twenty something ministry, and served internationally with Athletes in Action, and in Haiti with a church team.  He has also led Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Campus Life, served as teacher, youth pastor, and fill in for pulpit supply, and he's led Bible clubs.  He has also been a speaker and teacher at different churches to all different ages.    

 

Curt is a man of principled faith.
